Needs -> Apply OST -> Outcomes -> meeting needs (in time) or not meeting needs
It’s important to work with the champiom (senoir person, CEO, mandate, sponsor, initiator) in the business to define a good question / theme. It must be a believable theme.
The question should lead participants look into things differently, interestingly, and positively. It shall help people grow.
The champion/mandate has to support the OST event and the facilitator has to obtain trust and permission from the champion.
To plan a facilitation workshop, one must consider (1) what tasks to achieve, (2) how much time to complete and (3) what tools to use.
The pre-work must be done well. The facilitator must be well-prepared, be confident, be nutral and respect cultural differences. On the other hand, the facilitator needs to be invisible to the participants and not influencing the dialouge.
When to apply OST : for chnaging the culture of organization. It is not just one event. It’s a progressive process to make positive changes.
Every participants are equal.
Open the space and hold the space for dialogue. Be prepare to handle the space invador.
Is it possible not to have the facilitator in the OST ? How about a ’non-facilitator OST ‘ – everyone could be the facilitator in the process.
How to evaluate the OST outcomes ? It’s important to look at the impacts of the event, rather than the mid-term outcomes.
Testimonie from OST participant is good for evaluating the OST outcomes/impacts.
Being able to value the impact of OST.
Result-Based Management ; 3W2 : What Went Well and What Went Wrong.
Reflection is used in the OST.
